“Don’t Fuck With Me” (@dontfckwithme.yvr) was created by Jules (@comesinwithme) , an activist, s3x worker and survivor of s3xual assault, in the spring of 2021 in hopes of providing foundational knowledge for self-defence. In the height of horrific abuse towards women, those who identify as women, transgender, gender diverse, BIPOC, s3x workers, and many others that intersect these titles - Jules couldn’t sit back any longer.  DFWM is a free self-defence workshop catered specifically for those listed above. The workshops not only consist of basic physical training and defence tactics, but also highlights the importance of harnessing fear into power and confidence. Jules is also an eclectic witch, one who embraces all magic and spiritualities. They work with the elements, animals, astrology, lunar cycles and pagan traditions to align with the divine.

In this episode we: discuss basic self defence tips, share advice for survivors of s3xual assault, lighten things up by recapping our favourite stripper moments and dive into some witchy practices that we can all benefit from.

Aries (@ari3s_bb) is a sex worker of 6+ years and started str!pping almost 4 years ago. They have also worked with grassroots and political organizations throughout this time, practiced their str!pper smile while working a 9-5 barista job, and been inching closer and closer to a bachelor’s degree along the way. After trying out various fields of study—from visual art to political science to religion—they discovered they could translate being super gay and in love with women (and never shutting up about it) into a degree and landed in Women and Gender Studies. This has allowed them to do research around SW, SWers, race, gender, class, media, communication, justice, religion, and violence against marginalized groups. Aries is currently a semester away from graduation, str!pping in Philly and making spicy content. They’re also blowing up on TikTok where they share SW, str!pping and spiritual related content with their 55,000+ followers!

We chat to Aries about: their experience dancing in Philly; being a SWer in academia; peoples’ misconceptions regarding the dangers of the s3x industry; tips for staying safe as a SWer; gatekeeping informative within the SW community; female patrons being terrible in the str!p club; the crossover of spirituality, psychology and other methods of healing with regards to s3x work; and a ton more!

This week’s episode is a TWO PARTER and may just be one of our favourite interviews so far! This week we are sitting down with Jeremy, a good friend of Danica’s and the General Manager of the world famous str!p club The Number 5 Orange (aka. “The Five”). 

The second part of this interview we put Jeremy in the hot seat and asked him all (well most of) your listener questions! Top 3 qualities of a good entertainer? Qualities you love in a dancer that works at your club? Do you ever go into a str!p club as a patron? From the male perspective, what makes a good lap dance ? What would be a reason for firing someone? Why do some dancers get put on more customers than others? Do managers pick favourites? If given the power, what would be some things that you would change about the club? What is your opinion on the increase of tip out per dance for the dancer, but the stagnancy of the price per dance? And a ton of other questions, some maybe a little too spicy to type out so you’re just going to have to listen. 😉

This week’s episode is a TWO PARTER and may just be one of our favourite interviews so far - perhaps because we forced the guest into being on the show or because we just couldn’t stop laughing the entire recording. Jeremy has been a good friend of Danica’s for years and “willingly” came on the pod to share his experience as a cis male with an insider view of the sêx industry. Jeremy has been working at the world famous str!p club The Number 5 Orange (aka “The Five”) for 25+ years; the last 12+ years occupying the role of General Manager. But he’s not like a regular manager, he’s a cool manager - we promise! 

In the first part of this two-part episode we: discuss the major changes Jeremy has seen in the clubs over the last 25 years, the changes he’s seen in the dancers and the patrons, the impact of c0vid on the local club scene, advice on how to apply / audition for the club, comment on bullying in the club and new dancers respecting the veteran dancers, and discuss what indicators he sees that tells if someone is going to do well in the industry or have the tenacity for the club. And then we put Jeremy in the hot seat and get his opinion on dating while working in the sêx industry and how being a str!p club manager impacts his sex / love life.

Today we are joined by Bella Green (@bellagreenery) . Bella is a stand-up comedian, writer and sex worker living in Melbourne, Australia. She got her start in comedy by telling jokes in brothels to anyone who'd listen. Now she tells jokes in some of the best comedy rooms in the country. 

Her debut stand-up hour “Bella Green is Charging For It” answers all the questions you’d never thought to ask about the adult industry. It won Best Comedy at Adelaide Fringe 2020 and was nominated for Best Comedy at Melbourne Fringe 2018. 

Bella was a guest on the Wilosophy podcast in 2020, with Wil Anderson describing her as “a brilliant stand-up comedian” and her memoir 'Happy Endings' was released by Pan Macmillan in 2021.

We chat with Bella about her experience writing her memoir “Happy Endings”; how her SW and comedy work overlap; share her weirdest stories from her SW career; discuss how working in the s3x industry has changed her; share her journey with addiction and rehab; and a ton more!
